GTA4 continued
Chuey and I went to Gamestop last night and picked it up. Remind me to not go to Gamestop and go to Wal Mart next time the next best thing comes out. As far as the game goes, I’ve only played about 20 minutes-ish, and it’s getting off to a very cinematic start. Looks like Chu has played more than me, perhaps he could weigh in his opinion.
3 commentsCAN I RIDE 1000 MILES THIS YEAR?
probably…. i figure its a good goal to shoot for and i have already ridden 95 thus far. yesterday’s 17 mile ride involved ~13 mph winds that were almost directly in my face half of the ride, and it was a cold mofo. gogo 1000 miles!

It’s coming out Tuesday! I might go on midnight Monday to go get it; chu, you in?
IGN gave it a 10/10, I’m a little skeptical about that. I don’t really know of a perfect game but who knows. I imagine they received a decent amount of $ to give it a 10. I don’t want to think that about IGN but it seems pretty obvious. Anyways, that hasn’t ruined my excitement for the game thought. I think I’m more stoked for the multiplayer than the single player missions. I remember wishing that GTA3 had multiplayer; an open ended world will make for some interesting matches. I hope the game lives up to the hype ;o
5 commentsThe Ubiquitous Dell Laptop
The story began when I bought a 15″ Dell notebook, which failed at games so I sold it to Tommy Vohawgan. Then Chu and I bought 17″ gaming beasts with GeForce go6800’s. Then every last person on the face of the planet bought them. Here’s everyone I can think of:
- Baddox
- Chu
- Brice
- Seep
- Tim
- Stu
- Beor
- Smitty (15 incher)
- Jake (15 incher)
- TV (15 incher)
Fun With Laptops
We opened up Savage’s laptop to clean out dust, since a few weeks ago we did the same to Tim’s top and its innards were caked with dust.

Also, I finally put XP on my Macbook Pro, which required reinstalling Leopard first because for some reason my OS X partition couldn’t be resized to put Boot Camp on it (perhaps because I had upgraded from 10.4 to 10.5?). It can run UT2k4 flawless, and DoD:S decently on low settings.

Anyone with a Macbook Pro knows they get hellaciously hot, but I finally looked into getting fan control software. For OS X everyone recommends smcFanControl2, which I haven’t tried yet since I’m still booted into Windoez. For Windows it took a bit more digging, but I found an app called Input Remapper that allows you to customize the Macbook’s keyboard in Windows and also lets you manually set fan RPM’s. Even turning the fans up a quarter of the way made the temperature instantly drop rather noticably, and turning them up all the way didn’t even make them that loud.
